OUR SHOOT: EMP produced photography and video for Hilton Hotels & Resorts’ global advertising campaign “Stay Hilton. Go Everywhere.” With Paul Ross Jones, the award-winning photographer from New Zealand, we stayed Hilton and produced everywhere: Sedona, Beverly Hills, Prague, New York, Waikaloa and Los Cabos.

THE CHALLENGE: For this six-week shoot featuring seven hotel properties in three countries, EMP reached far and wide to source each local production. We synchronized our watches and teams in every location including: scouts, casting directors, transport chiefs, hybrid still and motion crews and equipment – prepared to shoot in desert heat, tropical humidity, seasonal rain and snow.

As lead liaison between photographer, art directors, crews and hotel coordinators, we needed to anticipate and answer everybody’s unique needs. Like gaining access to a rooftop lounge overlooking Manhattan’s skyline to film during the weekend rush hour, negotiating permission to shoot underwater with dolphins on the Big Island, and finding an ultralight aircraft to propel Paul with his camera above the Baja coastline.

THE UPSHOT: We turned storyboards into action and successfully coordinated a matrix of people, places and plans. Ready to see the world one Hilton at a time, we packed our suitcase, mobile production office and travel agent’s home phone number. We booked a production roster with more than 100 of our vetted crew and top talent, and delivered our production in peak form and under budget. Go EMP!
